Somehow i ended up at this guys home,
As so often to save money
A private place to stay
And i knew straight away
That things where not ok
he picked me up from Osaka station
Obviously he wasn't feeling well
We stopped at 7 eleven on the way
And bought 3 cans of beer for later
And a pack of instand coffee for the day after
His house was empty, his things out of order
He seemed confused, a layer of dust on everything unused
It hadn't been cleaned for years and he talked about the old days and I saw some tears
About London and his studies, right at the beginning of the 90’s
From his visit to Berlin when everything was a win
He had a drum kit in his basement
And a few synths from the 80’s
Tapes, floppy discs and records to
He was happy to have someone to talk to
And he couldn't sleep all night
Not only was he an alcoholic
He was also ill and abandoned by his daughters and his wife
On the first night he said they would come back when he found a new job
On the second night he told me while sitting on tatami they weren't coming back
He had to cry, cause it wasn’t easy to say it
